Is anything you have to do differently with the metallic sphere toroid Tesla coil compared to the normal toroid coil?
The purpose of the top load is to act as an antenna/capacitor. As per Tesla, the sphere is better for wireless transmission of power. Our spheres ship with a 1/4 20 threaded nut, and that will falicitate mounting to the L2 via an end cap that can fit the L2. So for a 1 1/4 inch piece of PVC, a 1 1/4 inch PVC cap can be drilled, and a bolt and several washers can make the fit.
Hi, does the metallic sphere produce any sparks that arc through the air? Thanks!
Freestanding from the sphere? No, Free standing from the un loaded L2, yes. You can easily excite plasma from the top load, however.
Hi, nice project, but i want to know how hard is to wind the coil ? dont u sell winded ?
thanks!
If you follow the instructions provided with the DVD media, it is easy to wind the coil. Be prepared to spend a couple hours doing it however. Unfortunately at this time we do not offer pre wound kits.
What is the power source for this coil? Is it 3 9 V batteries?
I don’t see the primary coil on your sphere top load model. Where is it?
David
Any DC source from 9V-24V will work with a Teslatronix Tesla coil. It was not pictured in that particular shot.
is this practical to power 2 light bulbs all the time (how much power does it use) and how dangerous is it (can i touch any part of the coil or metal sphere?
