Transistor is a TIP31C. Primary is 11 turns of house wire. Secondary is 540 turns of wire from an old transformer primary. Input is 24 volts at around 300 milliamps (7.2 watts of input power).
It lights up fluorescent tubes very well. Can light them form about 30 inches away. Makes about a 1/4 inch of plasma.
